Baby E Update
Baby E turned 6 months old yesterday. She is a really sweet baby who loves to hang out and laugh at the world going by. The only time I have seen her get angry is when she is hungry, tired, or her older sister takes away her ring toy.
She has no interest in rolling over, but loves to kick and dance when on her back. She may have an allergy to bananas or strawberries, we're not sure which at this point. She is 19lbs and between 6-9 month clothing.
She is still waking up 1-2 times per night to eat, but its a pretty quick "feed me, change me, back to bed".
We love you little E!

He said what?
Last night we are downstairs and the pole tells me “Mama, you
have a really big belly. Can I hit it?” I said no, we don’t hit belly’s and we
shouldn’t tell people that have big belly’s. He says sorry and walks away.
A few hours later I am putting him to bed and he tells me,
very lovingly, “Mama…you are super fat”. (I wanted to mention to him that he and his 2 sisters helped make me super fat, but that was probably not the time).
I told him that fat really isn’t a very nice word and it
makes people sad when you use it. He asked if it made me super sad…I told him
no, but it does make me a little bit sad and it would make other people sad if
he said it to them.
He told me he could make everyone a little bit happy if he
said sorry. I said yes, that would work, but just don’t use the word fat.
He then says “mama, you’re beautiful. And you have big
boobies”.
Ummm…..ok. Things I know for sure. #1:he is all boy. #2: I clearly need to hit a treadmill and have more
salads.
No thanks Santa
Our town had a breakfast with Santa at the B&G club
Saturday morning. On Friday night I asked the pole if he wanted to have
breakfast with Santa tomorrow and he told me “NO!! I don’t want Santa
downstairs!” (I guess he thought I meant Santa was coming for breakfast at our
house). I explained it was somewhere else and there would be fun things to do,
etc…he didn’t care. He told me he doesn’t want Santa to come to our house. I
told him that Santa brings presents and I can call him and let him know to
leave the presents on the deck and daddy will bring them inside.
He looks me dead in the eye and matter of factly tells me to
call Santa and tell him not to come over b/c “mommy and daddy” can buy the
presents for Christmas instead. I tried to not die laughing and said ok, lets
talk about it tomorrow.
Saturday, we get our tree and there is a skinny Santa at the
tree farm. I asked pole if that Santa was real and he said “No mama, Santa is
pretend!” and walked right past the Santa will no fear/care/etc. On the way
home, I asked him if he thought Santa was real or pretend and he told me
pretend. I said its ok to think that but some people think he is real so we
need to keep it a secret for now.
Fast forward to Sunday…I asked him AGAIN if Santa was real
or pretend. Today he tells me he’s real. I asked where he lives and he says
North Pole. I asked him what he does for a job and he says he brings presents
to people, but he’s not coming to our house. You and daddy can buy presents
instead.
An hour or so later my in laws come over. MIL asks him if
he’s excited that Santa is coming over….he tells her No, mama called him and
told him to stay home. But he can come to your house, tell mama to call
him.
Husband says this is all my fault b/c last weekend I told pole
we need to clean up the toys or Santa won’t bring any more. The playroom was a
dump and I was tired of picking everything up by myself. Oops…I guess it
backfired.
The best part of this entire thing is that originally he
wanted “Santa” to bring him this obnoxious garbage truck from BJ’s…it was a
huge, cheaply made truck that would have been destroyed in a week but he kept
talking about that was the thing Santa would bring. Now that he hates Santa, I
was able to use logic with him. I told him that I went to the store to check
out the truck and it was kind of yucky and looked like it was for little boys,
not big kids. I told him I saw some other trucks (on Amazon…hehehe) that were
for big kids and they had cement mixers, cranes, log trucks, etc. He told me
(very politely) that he would like me and daddy to buy a log truck for him for
Christmas instead. I said that sounded like a great plan.
He then asks me if it was Christmas and did I have the log
truck in my car. I told him no, Christmas was on the 25th, go look
at the advent calendar and see its only the 9th. I reminded him
presents show up on the 25th….so sit tight.
This actually happened a few weeks ago. Since that time, pole has decided the reindeer are allowed to drop off one present for him, but still no Santa.
