We had a very busy weekend with the pole. We had our first double event booking in quite some time on Saturday. On Sat we went to Baby Kos's Baby shower from 11ish to 2. The pole had a great time walking/crawling/eating/socializing with all the old hens. He started getting fussy around 1:30, so we decided to leave after the presents finished.
Often times we will just change the pole's diaper in the back of the pathfinder. Its easier to do it there instead of trying to balance him on the gross little plastic changing fold down table in most stores. As I was grabbing the diaper supplies, the pole peed all over Steve's shirt. It was really bad. So bad that we had to stop at TJMax to pick up a new shirt for our second event.
With the pole sleeping in the back of the car, we decided to tag team the shopping adventure. Steve ran in first to grab a shirt (of course he found the only freaking shirt in the store that costs $40). He came out so I could go in and look for an extra toy for the birthday party we were going to. I saw the loooonnnggg holiday line and decided that I just wanted to check out and leave. As I was waiting in line becoming VERY agitated with the crazy person in front of me, I started perusing the piles of crap the store stocks in the line right before the registers. Lo and behold, in a pile of miscellaneous books, was the "Harry the Dirty Dog" DVD for a whopping $5.99. I almost fell over from shock. In case you didn't know, Harry the DD is the ONLY thing pole will watch. God forbid we watch a little Sesame Street or Food Channel...anything would be a nice change of pace. Anyway, I purchased the DVD and yesterday we watched a new episode of Harry. The pole was super excited (so were Steve and I)
We also had Tate's 5th birthday party. The pole enjoyed hanging out with lots of other little kids (he also liked to try to steal their cake). He was exhausted by ~5:30pm so we left and came home.
Sunday was pretty uneventful. We did a little grocery shopping and mostly hung around the house. It was nice to have a relaxing day together with our little man.
